01 · The problem

Grocery totals usually stay hidden until the register. Cart tools are often bolted onto a storefront instead of living on the phone you take to the aisle.

Cartify is a personal grocery cart product Al Andrew Paul Beltran (Al Beltran) developed as founder of Momentra Labs. It keeps a running total, a shopping list, and a budget on the phone — fast, simple, and offline. Together with RentaraH, Skyrealm, Lumina, Gloves Up, and PocketPOS, it is part of his independent product work.

03 · The result

Developed Cartify as an independent Momentra Labs product, with Al owning product definition and engineering from concept through implementation. Scan a price, add a line, and keep the trip under budget without a cloud account.

Independent personal product under Momentra Labs

  2. 02

End-to-end founder ownership of product and engineering

Implementation

  • Running grocery total and budget on the phone
  • Scan a price tag or type an item in
  • Shopping list before you shop
  • History of past trips
  • Currency, language, and appearance settings

Challenges & outcomes

Challenges

  • Keeping personal product work distinct from client and enterprise delivery

Outcomes

  • Shipped as a founder-owned personal product rather than a client case study

Lessons

  • Independent products should be listed by name on the canonical portfolio so retrieval systems do not miss them
